Transducers for electrical measurement and signal conversion
Electrical transducers convert a measured input into a proportional and standardised output signal. This allows electrical and physical values to be monitored remotely, displayed clearly or passed into wider control and automation systems.
HOBUT transducers are available for a broad range of measurement requirements. Depending on the product selected, output options can include standard current and voltage signals suitable for connection to panel meters, programmable controllers, data acquisition equipment and computer systems.
The range includes compact DIN rail transducers for straightforward installation within control panels and electrical distribution equipment.
Current and voltage transducers
HOBUT current and voltage transducers are designed to measure AC or DC electrical signals and convert them into proportional DC outputs.
The range includes products for single-phase and three-phase systems, with self-powered, auxiliary-powered, average-sensing and true RMS options available for different waveform and application requirements.
These transducers are suitable for applications including switchboards, generator controls, energy management systems, telemetry equipment and industrial control panels.
Power and frequency transducers
Active power, reactive power and frequency transducers allow important electrical parameters to be monitored as part of a wider control or energy management system.
HOBUT frequency transducers convert variations in AC frequency into a proportional DC output, making them suitable for monitoring mains supplies, generating sets and process-control applications.
Power transducers provide output signals proportional to measured active or reactive power, enabling connection to meters, PLCs, computers, data loggers and other monitoring equipment.
Temperature and resistance transducers
HOBUT’s range also includes transducers for measuring temperature and resistance-based inputs.
RTD and thermocouple temperature transducers convert sensor inputs into standard output signals for use within industrial temperature monitoring and control systems. Remote resistance transducers provide similar signal conversion for resistance-based measurement applications.
Specialist and summation transducers
For more specialist requirements, HOBUT offers products including current summation transducers, DC linear integrators, tap-position transducers and multiple-output current or voltage transducers.
Summation transducers can combine several measured inputs and produce one proportional output, while multiple-output products allow a single measured input to be distributed to several monitoring or control devices.
DIN rail transducers for industrial applications
Many HOBUT transducers are supplied in compact DIN rail-mounted cases, allowing them to be installed efficiently inside electrical panels, switchboards and control equipment.
Typical applications include:
- Electrical control panels and switchgear
- Energy management systems
- Generator and genset controls
- Industrial process monitoring
- Building management systems
- PLC and computer-based control systems
- Telemetry and remote monitoring
- Analogue and digital meter systems
With a range of input types, output signals and auxiliary supply options available, HOBUT can provide transducers for both standard measurement duties and more specialised electrical applications.
UK manufacturer of electrical transducers
HOBUT has extensive experience in the manufacture of instrumentation and control products for electrical measurement applications.
Our transducer range is supported by a wider portfolio of current transformers, analogue panel meters, digital meters, power meters and protection products, allowing customers to source compatible measurement and monitoring equipment from one established UK manufacturer.
Selected transducers are available with non-standard inputs, outputs, auxiliary supplies and calibration options where technically viable.
Need help selecting the right transducer?
Choosing the correct transducer depends on the parameter being measured, the input range, the required output signal, the supply arrangement and the equipment receiving the converted signal.
